Join us for a panel discussion of how to pursue a career in international affairs.  Our three distinguished speakers have worked in international sports, international business and diplomacy.  They will share their real-life tips, experiences and insights.


PANEL SPEAKERS


AMELIA HAGEN

Bellarmine '08 alumna, Amelia has 15+ years of experience managing and working with global sports events, conferences, higher education, and international education in the US, Europe, MENA, Asia, and the South Pacific with the likes of TEDx, FIFA, UNDP, the US Embassy in Riyadh, the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, and the American University of Central Asia.


MICHAEL FOWLER

Michael is the Executive Director of the World Trade Center Tacoma. He co-founded and continues to support a Tokyo-based import and distribution company. Michael’s diverse career includes several years as a journalist and associate publisher for a Tokyo-based business magazine, as well as extensive experience as a Japanese and Chinese to English translator.


THOMAS COUNTRYMAN A Bellarmine graduate, Thomas Countryman has held numerous high-level positions in the State Department including Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Non-proliferation.  Since 2017, he has served as the chair of the non-partisan Arms Control Association.
